Can I use my video project for commercial use?
We understand that it’s important to know where the line is between personal and commercial use, especially when sharing your work on public platforms. Here’s how we define it.
If you're uploading your project to social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook—or sharing it on YouTube, even if your channel is monetized or has over 100,000 views—this is considered personal use. These kinds of uses are fully permitted under our personal license and don’t require a commercial plan.
However, if you're using the platform to create content for a business or brand that generates revenue, or if you're paying to promote your content, that would fall under commercial use. This includes creating marketing materials, advertisements, business presentations, or any project used to directly promote a commercial product or service outside of typical social media posting.
If you’re unsure whether your intended use is commercial or personal, feel free to get in touch with us. We’re here to help you navigate the guidelines with clarity and confidence.
We have included links below to our Terms of Use, and suggest that you seek independent legal advice on the applicability of our Terms to your specific project and proposed commercial use.
